WOWWW..That is all I can say at this point. I have been addicted to the stage since I was a little girl. Dancing in front of hundreds of people was such a rush. As I grew I learned to embrace that rush I would feel, turning it into energy for my performance. That's what its all about. Giving a great performance that people are drawn into. A great performance sucks them in, moves them while there in it, and leaves a lasting impression that they want more of.
I haven't updated my blog since my 1st performance. What a year it's been. Things are finally staring to move along and I thought I'd share my feelings. Afterall, that's what writing music is about.
Needless to say, after my first performance, I wanted every weekend after that to be filled with a performance of some sort. I got back into the studio and started recording songs that you can now hear in clubs in St. Louis. I got a few more performances under my belt as well. I sang "Rebound" at The Cultural Festival in Bloomington. That was a blast! I had an entire row of fans there for me, including my bestest of friends. : ) Audrey and Jennifer came up from STL to watch. Oh yes, I forgot to tell you I moved to Bloomington/Normal for 6 months. It was productive, but then I ended up recording in a studio back in St. Louis. lol ohhh wellll. Now I'm back home making my name known out of St. Louis. My hometown...Oh how I love St. Louis. It's so full of soul and energy! Anywayyyy, I then recorded 2 songs that were more of a club sound, "Hangin With The DJ" and "Livin On The Edge". They've been a hit!
After the cultural festival, after that I performaned at my sister's dad and step mom's reception. It was amazing singing for family members.
I then performed for a gym full of junior high and high school students from bloomington/normal. That was a blast! At first I was thinking, "I hope my lyrics aren't too deep for them. I would hate to be up there and them not get into it." I was totally wrong. It was one of my most fun performances I've had! I sang a song that no one has really heard because it was the only age appropriate songs I had, "Just Me" THEY LOVED IT! They were all dancing and giving me high fives the entire time. After I was done performaning I had a 30 minute autographing session. I loved every second of it. I also got to talk to several of the students about how I got started and how they should never give up. Just to start some where and with hard work, good things will come. They were so inspired. It felt amazing to be able to give advice to people at a young age. I even had a girl sing to me because she was so set on being a singer, but was afraid to perform.
I then had a performance at SIUC (Carbondale) One of my good friends Tabria is in charge of the productions section of the college and asked if I would perform some songs. I said of course! I also got interviewed. That was an amazing experience! While I was performing, I got to work 5 cameras instead of just singing to a crowd. I learned a lot from that. I learned a great deal from the interview as well. It felt funny at first holding the mic to talk into when answering questions, but make it feel and look like I knew what I was doing. lol. The show will be aired in April on PBS! I'll be on TV finally! I will be getting a copy of the video soon and will post it on youtube and my website. So stay tuned.
I have worked SO HARD this past year. It is so amazing to look back and see what I've done. I've met another artist that I love and will be working with in the future Kingston O'Nasty and producer J-Traxx. They are both very talented and will be very successful, great people as well. I'm looking forward to the hot tracks we'll have out together.
I've been a little networking busybee! I love meeting new people and influencing them as well as being influenced. I have met a ton of amazing DJ's in the STL area. DJ CMace, DJ Costik, DJ Joey and DJ ADHD (aka Romano Brothers). What a great end of the year it was! I have my TV Muzic Album Preview Party/Bday Party on the 11th. It was the best bday ever! All of my loves and favorite people came out to support me! I got to hear my song at Mandarin, Morgan St. Brewery, Club Fusion, and now tonight Club Sol. When I first heard it play at Morgan St....I crieddd my eyes out! like seriously cried my eyes out! It was such an amazing feeling to hear my own voice in the club I've been haning in since I was 21!
So what's to come you ask?
I will be getting some video footage soon for my songs.
I will be recording several more songs to finish up with an entire album
I will be getting together my press kit to start giving out...that is when we will start tour dates.
I will be touring by the spring time
In the meantime, I will keep writing my heart and my mind on paper on a regular basis.. Life is such an amazing thing when you make it what you want. I am so blessed for all fo the wonderful family and friends that I have. I have such a truly amazing team that supports me 100%. It's the TV Crew and no one will stop us!
My promise to you is that what I say I will be doing..WILL happen. Haters..I love you to death. Please keep it up! you are the best word of mouth plublicity I have : ) kisses! I started with a piece of paper, a dream, and some amazing lyrics from my heart....and now I have this!!! I have grown as an artist so much this past year and I continue to grow with each and every song and performance. My music is my life. I will not stop until I am able to travel the world learning about other people cultures, while lettnig people experience TV Muzic. All I can ask for are prayers and support. Music is how I feel alive. If I can't make music, I won't ever feel like I lived...Pray for the safety of my team, a good year, and that I don't fall on a stage..lol
Well everyone, I will keep this updated now that shit's rollin!
I love you all!
